LOGICALLY AND WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Sleeping in sun,
Washing in the sea,
The sand too hot,
The seaweeds to wet.
A crab trying to escape under a rock,
The sea-urchin too spiky,
The jellyfish floating away,
The woman screamed,
The boy yelled,
And the man dived.
Eating toast in a cafeteria,
The smell of bacon too much,
As the marmalade is spread on the toasted bread.
Drinking beer in a pub,
Nibbling from a packet salted crisps;
While the drunken man started to sing.
The dead body lays in the mortuary,
The grave is being dug out,
The mourners at home waiting for the cars,
Black dresses for the ladies,
Black suits and white shirts for the men…..
The children playing undeterred.
The midnight air was cold,
The stars seemed too close for comfort;
The moon hides behind thick clouds;
The man grabbed a woman and raped her,
The safe blasted open by dynamite;
The thieves took the loot laughing…..
The priest saying mass at dawn,
Few people in the church,
The market is opened,
The people ready to go to work.
Children having breakfast,
Pancakes burnt and the milk too cold.
I just woke up,
Whom am I going to kill today?
