THE DORMANT DEMON
I am possessed by a dormant demon!
He is always there, within me.
Sometimes inactive.
I can feel it, but it stays silent.
then, without warning,
it wakes up and creates havoc in my life.
I mean I’m talking about my alcohol addiction.
I can understand,
the devil, as I’ve put it, hasn’t got horns,
the demon lies in a bottle,
That is because I need it, often.
I realise that alcohol changes me completely,
without it, I am well-mannered, educated,
respectable and above all a gentleman.
For ’s sake, I have artistic diplomas
and yet I waste all my talents.
I ask, why, for the sake of alcohol?
Solution:
I would like to cast away my demon.
Would I though?
